Saban said he hasn't been contacted by Alabama and doesn't want to be.
"This has been the case for years," he said. "When I was in college it was always about coming to the pros. This is the challenge I wanted. I had a good college job. Why would I have left that if I was going to be interested in other college jobs?" (Exactly)
"Mike Shula is a good guy. He's a friend," Saban said. "I think he has done a good job there and should have been given an opportunity to stay there."

They know more than I do, but I can't see that firing Shula was the right move. What was he doing that was wrong, or NOT doing that must be done, to make Alabama a strong football program?
But as you noted, they have a habit of doing this in Tuscaloosa (anyone remember Bill Curry?).
