Chesney & Sugarland

On Sunday, Kerrie and I went with a few friends to see Kenny Chesney, Sugarland, and Pat Green at the amphitheatre in town. The concert started at 7 so we got there around 4:30 and tailgated for a few hours before. Apparently this is a new concept in San Antonio since people were passing us and asking us what we were doing. Strangeness.

Anyway, as you go through the pictures, you will notice that our seats changed. During the Sugarland act, a very not-friendly couple took up the seats behind the other couple we were with. The female behind us tapped our female friend on the shoulder and said that she needed to sit down so that she could see. Our friend responded with the normal "we're at a concert, we're gonna dance, and we're not sitting down" response. And that was that....or so we thought. After Sugarland got done, we sat for a few minutes and decided we would all go get something to eat. Well when our female friend got up, she had makeup all over the back of her shirt. Looking at her seat back, it looked like K had taken a lipstick-colored crayon and gone to coloring. Of course, the couple behind us was now gone. So, Kerrie and I head off to get some food while the couple we were with headed for the usher and security. 15 minutes later, the couple returned and the event staff took over. Within 5 minutes, we were moved to the other side of the stage and were watching Kenny from the front row of the first non-orchestra section . As the concert people put it, this was done to "prevent any other interaction." They also gave us free tickets to a future concert. As we were leaving our original seats, we'll just say that we thanked the couple behind us for the upgraded seats and leave it at that.

Besides that lovely episode, the concert was really good and the weather was great too (low 90's, partly cloudy, wind 5-10 mph).

The partial crowd gathered for Pat Green.

I felt I needed to put a Pat Green picture up because apparently he is from San Antonio.

The sun during Sugarland's set was just setting in the direct line of my camera. So not so good for pictures. Oh well.

If you're wondering, her voice is just as good live as it is in studio.

Our first seats.

The new seats minus the insane Avon lady.

Once again, good zoom.
