K's First Soccer Practice

This past Friday, K had her first ever soccer practice. Her team right now has seven, 5 girls and 2 boys. Only one of the seven has ever played soccer before. They started off sitting in a circle and saying each others names. Then they started kicking – K was, of course, first in line. They dribbled a little and shot at the goal. After that, they practiced dribbling to the coach and back. Then they did “big kicks” and then “little kicks” back and forth a while. Finally, they had a little scrimmage that went…well, just watch the video below. K was most outspoken the entire time and was one of two who actually were going after the ball hard during the scrimmage. Her first game is this coming Saturday so be ready for more pictures and videos. At the end of practice, they got their jerseys – K got #8. She then proceeded to wear the jersey the rest of the day.

Here is K meeting her new friends.

Ready for her big kick. Keep in mind that there were 7 kids in line kicking. K went sixth. She was in this position the whole time the first 5 were kicking.

Notice the leg in the bottom left hand corner - K had justed brushed up against him.

And down he goes. You can tell K slowed up....not really.

And she keeps on going....
