Our Weekend

This past weekend, we spent the ENTIRE time in the yard redoing our "new house" landscaping - or lack thereof. The straight-line beds needed some more shape and get extended a bit. So, I got the honor of digging up quite a bit of sod and doing some edging. Did I mention that dirt in Texas really means clay and rock? Good times. Once we got all the grass up, we finally got to put down some good dirt and actually plant some stuff. We planted some new shrubs and moved most of the old ones. Most of what we planted were bulbs for hostas, annuals so the beds look a little bare now - hopefully that will change in a few weeks. As the bulbs start coming up, I'll post more pictures.

The tree at the right is called a Chaste tree. Once it blooms, it should be pretty sweet. We'll see.

We put some Creeping Fig along the big cement foundation. Hopefully the ivy will fill it up pretty quick. And if you look by the AC units, you'll see where those shrubs from the "before" beds ended up.

Nice landscaping. When does your home and garden show debut?
