Soccer Is Back

As you can see, Morgan's second soccer season with her club team is in full swing. Full contact is obviously not a problem. After a very rough spring season (one tie, rest losses), the girls have started out 3-0 with two shutouts. And their goalee has yet to call out the coach or the other goalee for being too old.

Before the game, K and I threw a tennis ball around. Here is my attempt to teach her how to throw overhand.

Throwing overhand = success. Using plant foot to throw off of = not so much.

While Mo was playing, these ladies had a little garden party under the shade. They had a mini soccer ball and were playing hot potato.

The "H" is Silent/Invisible

That's right. San Antonio now has psycics. Money well spent no doubt....especially since they are 100% accurate. Anyway, I bet Auburn is wishing they had some psycics right now to tell them the amount of hurt they are going to have to endure this season.

Good week in San Antonio. Morgan won her soccer game last weekend and I forgot the camera. Yay me. K had a policeman come to her school this week to teach them about strangers. This is how that conversation went.

K - The policeman told us about strangers and that we never talk to them.
Me - What about if strangers try to get you to go with them or give you candy?
K - The policeman told us to just walk away or run.
Me - Well did the policeman have on a uniform?
K - Yes.
Me - Did he have handcuffs?
K - No...but he did have a gun. (dramatic pause) But he didn't shoot anybody.

Yep....that is our daughter. She did clarify so that we knew that the policeman doesn't normally shoot at 4 year olds but instead just "bad guys".

On to football. Big thumbs up to the egg laid by Auburn. Great job. As for Bama, I must say it was nice to finally see them win one in the 4th quarter. I don't think that has happened since Mike Price was the coach. As for the real Tigers, 137-7 is just ridiculous. Our defense is #1 in almost every category and a lot of our backups on offense started against Middle Tennessee State. And we still won 44-0. This was the same Middle Tennessee State team that put up 42 against Louisville the week before. Next up is Spurrier who always scares me. But then again, Vegas has us as 16.5 point favorites. The Ol Ball Coach must not worry them too much.

I promise to take pictures during Morgan's soccer game on Sunday. Out.

Football Season Finally

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Greetings everyone. Yes, it is finally football season again. Of course, I am only writing for the first time about it after the second week of games. Allow me to explain. In the last 8 business days, I have had three trials and one Article 32 hearing (think grand jury hearing in civilian world) in three different cities (San Antonio, Wichita Falls, and Del Rio) at four different bases (Lackland, Brooks, Sheppard, and Laughlin). Out of control.

What this means is that I have not had much time to take pictures, update blog, shower, etc. OK, I have showered. Other than that, things have been scarce.

In the past couple of weeks, Morgan has started back with soccer. Two weekends ago they played in a tournament and took 3rd out of 9. The regular season starts this Saturday and we are expected to be among the teams to beat. Pictures will follow I promise.

Oh, and we have been watching some football too.

Initial Observations......

LSU - We are as advertised. I realize MSU is worthless and Va Tech was a little overrated, but come on - 93-7. Not bad for an SEC opponent and top 20 opponent. Me happy.

Bama - Not a bad start although the two teams they've played are ridiculous. Vandy had a chance to be in that game but those pesky yellow flags kept setting them back. First real test is this week against the McFadden Razorbacks.

Auburn - Any head coach that is playing an inferior Big East team who decides to play for overtime AT HOME when they have the ball with close to a minute left with timeouts deserves to get humiliated in overtime. Congrats Tommy. May be a long year down there.

Saints - I'm holding off until they play someone other than the defending Champs at home.

Finally, over the summer, K took dance and tap lessons. Here she is in her get up.....

Fun Saban Pics

Saw these this week and had to share. Funny stuff...although it looks like our coach may be getting some attention for the job below.
