I'm Going to Disneyworld....

Greetings everyone. The girls and I are currently recovering from our past week out of realty. Two Saturdays ago, we headed down to Orlando for a fun-filled week at Disney. Below you'll find a day-by-day account of the trip and a WHOLE lot of pictures. Enjoy enjoy.

Day 1 - Traveling and the Magic Kingdom

Saturday was the traveling day. We got up early, hit the straight shot to Orlando, got on the Disney Express to the resort, threw everything down in the room, and headed straight to Magic Kingdom. We rode a few rides and then we headed out to get back to the hotel room just in time for the LSU-Florida kickoff. 4 hours later, my blood pressure was through the roof and I had no fingernails left.

Here are the girls waiting in the first of many bus stop lines.

Yes, the LSU shirt went over well in Florida.

Me and K in the Dumbo Twirl.

And up we go.

In the Snow White ride, we were greeted with this....

And here is K's reaction.

King Arthur's got nothing on these two.

Yep...here is where Mo stole the camera.

K at Minnie Mouse's kitchen table in Minnie's house.

The lovely parents inside Minnie's gazebo.

Day 2 - The Animal Kingdom

On Sunday, we hit the Animal Kingdom hoping to avoid the serious crowds at Magic Kingdom on the holiday weekend. It worked. The crowd was nice and we had a great day checking out all the animals. We started off wandering the Asia part of the park and then petted some goats. From there, we hit the safari in Africa and ended the day seeing the Lion King show and the parade.

The girls and the flamingos.

This tree was pretty cool.

The gorillas were sleepy today.

Me, Mo and K on the drawbridge.

Cool waterfall in the gorilla's area.

K wanted to pet the real tigers. We found one that she could pet afterall.

K brushed the goat.

Komodo dragon - K said he was gross.

We figure these tigers were hungover from the LSU-Florida game the night before. Too much partying.

Hippos on the safari.

The elephant on the ground really got ill after a few minutes of this.

Mo taking a break.

K with Tigger.

And Pooh.

Kerrie and K waiting on the dino spin.

And up they go....

The animal parade begins...

K had a good seat on my shoulders.

Here is the tiger float.

Obviously designed by an LSU fan.

Here are Pluto and Mickey finishing up the parade.

Yeah...I know it is sideways. Just trying to exercise your neck.

Day 3 - MGM Studios

Monday was MGM Studios. We started off see the Cars riding down the road and then caught a great stunt show that included car and motorcycle chases, explosions and car jumps. They would then show how it was made. Mo put it best when she said, "Wow...movies are really fake." Anyway, from there we took the backlot tour (cool old stuff), rode the Star Wars ride (disappointing), and saw live shows of Little Mermaid and Playhouse Disney.

Lightning and Mater were going really slow.

No, we weren't really in San Francisco.

On the backlot tour, we passed the set graveyards. Here are the bone cages used in the 2nd Pirates movie.

The steamroller from Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

The motorcycles from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

The landskiff from Return of the Jedi. Very cool.

Snowspeeder. Even more cool.

K and Mo on the Landspeeder.

This is one of the actual costumes worn during the original filming of the first trilogy.

Derek will appreciate this one. Superman II lives.

This one is for Derek too. The Duke in the Greatest Movies ride.

This clip is for Pop. That's one big rock.

Here are the girls lost in Narnia.

Welcome welcome welcome to the big blue house....

K enjoying the Playhouse Disney show.

Here is K dancing her jig at the show.

This set was in the backlot tour. A big explosion just happened (hence the flames) and then....

the water came....
